260

The quarterly magazine of New York-based non-profit photography foundation of the same name, Aperture is the flagship representation of their commitment to contemporary photography.  Issue #260 is titled ‘The Seoul Issue’, exploring the fascinating, although oft volatile, history, politics and culture of the heavily populated South Korean capital from the perspective of the artists who inhabit it. As editor-in-chief Michael Famighetti observes in this issue’s opening letter: ‘the city is both an image and an image generator’, making it the ideal home for the ‘lively culture of artists’ who are shaped by, and in turn shape, the mercurial city.  With work from Heinkuhn Oh, Jeehey Kim, Jaeyong Park, Sohee Kim, Bohnchang Koo, Sung Jin Park and more.  aperture.org
