We first heard about this Sound-themed issue of Viscose Journal earlier this year during Jeppe Ugelvig’s brilliant talk at magCulture Live NYC25. And here it is: although a more typical, bound edition than issue seven, its square pages come in a plastic sleeve designed to mimic an LP sleeve. Inside, a series of essays examine the interaction between fashion and sound: runway music; a look at eighties New York clubbing zine Project X; Valentina Triet’s video/audio installation critiquing the fashion show experience; a look at how ‘real’ musicians aren’t supposed to care about fashion; a look back at Leigh Bowery’s interlacing of sound and fashion; and mush, much more. Plus a series of ‘ideal fashion playlists.’ This is another really rich issue of Viscose Journal, highly recommended. viscosejournal.com
