‘For the Creative and Curious’ Published quarterly, Uppercase is a joyful attempt to boost its readers’ creativity. As Janine Vangool, the woman behind the mag explains, the publication is ‘a playful exploration of creativity, an affinity for vintage ephemera, and a love of typography.’ Issue #66 is an ode to ‘objects of adornment’ romanticising the creative practice as a means to appreciating detailed beauty. The idea of a process being time-consuming is redefined as an opportunity to nurture; throughout the pages, cathartic rituals such as journalling, flower-arranging and letterpressing are explored as a reminder to slow down, as well as, keep alive historical practices. Adeline Cook writes about adornment as a political act through her beadwork communicating intersectional social justice issues and reclaiming her cultural identity as an Indigenous person. Plus, a whimsical and insightful essay by Correy Baldwin on ‘The Etymology Of "Adorn"’. uppercasemagazine.com
