Summit Journal

323

First published in 1955 and later revived in 2023, Summit Journal features striking imagery and detailed stories surrounding the people, places and perspectives that reach the spirit of what climbing is all about. Michael Levy opens the fall 2025 edition with a cherishable anecdote recalling his times assisting, political scientist, Gene Sharp which then transitioned into becoming the editor of Summit Journal. He notes the fluid overlap between world affairs and climbing; the importance of them not being mutually exclusive to each other. Issue #323 shares personal stories of climbing adventures interweaving with politics whether that is the direct action of the four climbers who flew a banner for Palestine atop El Cap Tower or the desire to ditch the environmentally destructive lifestyle of capitalism for 'yurt life'. As always, each page brings the unique and rugged landscapes to the reader through it's breathtaking imagery. https://www.summitjournal.com/
