Magazine designer Alex Hunting’s first foray into self-publishing is a bright, large-format magazine packed with a wide variety of stories. Built around a single piece of commissioned text—‘Peg’ by AK Blakemore, which opens the issue in large text across three pages—the magazine unfolds as a series of responses to that text. Writers, photographers and illustrators respond to specific parts of the text, in the style of creative footnotes. It’s a clever idea, well-executed, and it brings to life the original text nicely.
