17-warsaw

This Glasgow-born biannual visits a different city every issue, exploring the local culture through food, history, and community, and looking further than the cliché tourist routes. The team work with local writers each time. This time it’s the turn of the Polish capital Warsaw, a city that combines a tough history with an exciting present at the heart of Poland’s cultural revival. For example, Rusałka is a Soviet-era milk bar offering a nostalgiac look back at Polish classics, and Peaches is a contemporary vegan restaurant challenging the norms of Warsaw's food scene in more ways than one. Plus urban honey, local cider and Polish dumplings. On the Journal:Editor Ben Mervis and creative director Ric Bell spoke about the Budapest issue of their magazine at our magCulture Meets Fare evening at the Shop, in August 2023.Watch the video faremag.com
